This forum will shine a light on the remarkable work that women farmers are doing in Lumata, Haut Katanga, DRC. Women farmers grow and process the Artemisia plant, package it as tea and then sell it locally and internationally. The plant is known for is qualities in combating malaria. The women utilize the proceeds from the sale of the plant to rescue children from mines, provide education to them and also support a mutual aid society that supports the health care of families, especially women needing pre-natal and childcare.
Representatives from Lumata will share with the Congo Week audience the work they are doing to transform lives in their villages.
