According to Journaliste en Danger (JED), a journalist monitoring organization in the Congo, although official discourse towards the media tends to be increasingly open the level of repression that journalists face in the country remains extremely high. The DR Congo ranks 149 among 180 countries in terms of risk and danger for journalists carrying out their work. The panelists will discuss the dangers of being a journalist in the Congo as well as the myriad other challenges that they face as Congolese journalist.
