Maurice Carney has dedicated over 25 years to mobilizing global support for peace, justice and human rights in the Congo. An advocate of pan-African peace, justice and human rights in the Congo. An advocate of pan-African solidarity, Carney has championed the dignity and inclusion of Congolese civil solidarity, Carney has championed the dignity and inclusion of Congolese civil society in all efforts for democracy, food sovereignty, and climate justice. Carney advises political leaders and policy makers across the US, Canada, Latin America and Africa and is a sought after lecturer and writer on African politics, climate, and peace. He produced the Basandja film series grassroots struggles in Congo. Educated at Grambling State University, The University of Akron, and Howard University, Carney has been featured in the New York Times, Al Jazeera, DemocracyNow! , Pacifica Radio Network.
