‘NDJIMU’ is a sensorial cinematic work that moves through sound, stone, and story, engaging the mineral body as both archive and witness. Rooted in an ancestral ecological perspective, the film traces the entanglements between the Congo’s geological landscapes and Black bodies across global circuits of extraction, proposing cinema not simply as representation, but as a listening practice—where the land speaks, remembers, and resists.

NOTE: Petna Ndaliko Katondolo will be present at the post-screening discussion.

ABOUT THE DIRECTOR

Petna Ndaliko Katondolo (Mwalimu) is a Congolese filmmaker, ancestral ecologist and educator whose work blends Afrofuturist poetics with social critique. In 1994, he co-founded Maideni, an ecological youth movement, and in 2000, he co-founded Yole!Africa. Ndaliko Katondolo teaches and consults regularly for international organisations, addressing social, ecological and political inequity among marginalised groups through culture and art.
